I’ve been in a bit of a depression lately. Don’t know why. I think it may be because I’m doing a lot of live-ins and I’m not home anymore. I love my job, but I miss my home. We are having some financial problems also, so that doesn’t help. Sigh, I guess I really don’t have anyone I can talk to about all this, so here I go to efx2 to spill my guts. But, there’s no one here, lol. Oh well. It feels good to put it down anyhow.

The good news is that I got a raise. Yeah, 5 cents. Woohoo! I might buy myself a new car, haha.

A new beginning.

So, I’m sitting here wondering where the year went. It went fast, I know that! Lots happened, some good, some bad. But, overall, everyone I care about are healthy and content. I guess you couldn’t ask for anything better.:)

My back problems are a thing of the past. I’ve gone to a Chiropractor for almost two months and it’s made a world of difference. Yay! I can finally live life again. :)

The man I’m taking care of has the hots for me, but what’s new? LOL.

I hope all had a good Christmas, and if not… Hugs..

Bits and Pieces..

We just got back from our annual camping trip to the High Sierras. It’s so beautiful there and so peaceful, you really get to “recharge”

This camping trip seemed hectic though for some reason. Lots of going back and forth to the campsites with family members and it seemed to me way too much cooking! Things will have to be different next time, I almost felt like I wasn’t on vacation, lol.

I’ve adjusted to everyone moving back in and I’m more at peace with it. It is really nice to have my family all together for once. :Now if I could just get use to the clutter!

The heat has been almost unbearable here. It’s been humid and that’s unusual for CA weather. I can’t stand that sticky feeling, ugg. I wonder if the fires has anything to do with it?

Work has been great. I’m taking care of a 94 year old man. He is the sweetest person. He is confused as heck though, which is why he needs the help. I cook him his meals, otherwise all he eats is bananas, and drink wine, lol. I do his laundry and “gently” convince him to get in the shower and put on fresh clothes. He doesn’t think any of that is necessary, so this is no easy feat. I hope when I get to that age,

I have the resources to pay a company like mine to come in and help. People live so much longer when they can stay in their own home instead of a nursing home or an assisted living facility.

On a sad note… My 14 year old dog still has lots of energy, but lately has been falling. His back legs just give out on him. It’s so sad to watch, but he doesn’t seem to be bothered by it, he gets right up again:) Sigh, it’s going to be hard to see him go.

It’s been a long time…

It seems that everyone’s left here and gone on to other places, blogs, life, etc.

That’s OK. I miss many, but such is the life of online friends. I need to get use to that. It’s hard though! You make friends, become close to them and wham, they’re gone, for whatever reason.

It’s been a roller coaster life for me for the past few months. My son and his wife moved back in until he passes his Doctor boards. My younger son moved out, but is moving back in within the next week. He just can’t afford to live on his own in CA. It’s almost $1800 a month for an apt. here.

I’ve had Grand Jury duty for 4 months. I haven’t been able to work, so it’s been very stressful. It ends next week, so hopefully I can start working full time again.

One by one our cars have broken down. Mine is in the shop right now and hopefully I’ll have it by Tuesday. Hopefully it won’t cost too much, my husband is footing all the bills right now until Jury duty is over.

We had termites. We had to tent the house and move things out. They told us we only had to remove the food, it’s supposedly a gas that doesn’t stick to anything. Well, I don’t believe that. How often have the “EXPERTS” been wrong. Way to many times. So, we basically boxed up and moved anything personal. Clothes, lotions, food, personal body and face items. Basically the entire house, haha.

I am still unpacking and putting things back together. Sheesh…

My mother-in-law called me today and asked me to come over and look at a spot in her computer room. I asked why and she told me she thought it might be termite dust. WTF?? No way, God wouldn’t do this to me,

I went to their house today and there it was. The disgusting little pile of termite dust. I just know they will depend on us to help them with this since we are the closest relative and we stayed at their house during our tenting.

I’m still putting my house back together. It’s been frustrating and exhausting. I can’t imagine doing this again!

*sigh* Oh well, such is life. You do what you have to do. And that’s all she wrote.

Lions, Tigers and Bears.. Oh my..

20090506-214934-pic-7517_t2201Well, we had a  surpise a couple of days ago. A Black Bear wondered into our town. Now this is a  populated town, seeing a bear wondering around is NOT normal, haha. We are surrounded by mountains and have a major creek running through it, so I imagine he found his way to the creek and followed it until he decided to climb up and take a stroll through town. They  followed him walking down the street right by my house. That is a scary thought. I take my dogs for a walk almost every evening! He then went back into the creek, only to come back out by the Taco Bell down the street. Just in time for Cinco De Mayo? He then walked across the street to an apartment complex, where they shot him with a tranquilizer gun. They will release him into the wild again. I wasn’t even aware that we had any bears in our mountains, this is very strange…

What do you think?

eyeofheavenHeaven…  I grew up learning about Heaven, God, Mary, Saints and Angels. I’ve always had faith in all of it, went to church, sent my boys to religious classes, the whole shot.

But, lately I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching. It could be  because I have a few friends and family members pass away in the past 5 years and I’m trying to make sense of it all. Whatever the reason, my main questions right now are… “Is there really a Heaven? A God? Is anything in the Bible true, or is it just a made up story?”

Sounds silly, but last week I couldn’t stop thinking about one thing. If you die, your brain is dead, right? So, no thoughts, pain, fears, it all dies with the brain. So, if your soul goes to Heaven, how  would you even know it? You don’t have a brain anymore,  so no thoughts, no eyes, no body. So,  how would you even  know if you are in this place of glory?

Sheesh…

I guess it all comes down to Faith. But, I need something else right now. I wish someone could come back and answer these questions for me. Of course that won’t happen, so I need to decide if anything I was taught when I was growing up is even real..

Oh yeah…

I like a deal.  I search for deals. No I’m not cheap, not by a long shot. But, if I can find something used, in great shape for much less than full price in a store, I’m going to go for it. Except undergarments, or shoes, or really anything personal, I draw the line there.

I’ve been in the garage with my computer since my son and wife moved back in, in preparation for taking his medical boards.  That was the only place to move my desk and when we moved it, it kinda fell apart. We  put it back together, but it’s really on it’s last leg.  In the meantime, my younger son moved out and the plan was to find another desk and set it up in his room. I looked in the stores and was really surprised to find out how expensive furniture is! It’s been awhile since I bought any furniture, so I was really shocked. I didn’t want something cheap that would fall apart eventually, so that left the more pricy pieces.

So, the last few weeks have been about scouting around in the thrift stores and garage sales. I am persistant and will not give up, so that has been my main goal.  :)

Woohoo! Yesterday I went to the thrift store and found a solid oak desk. It’s awesome without a scratch on it! It’s more than large enough to put all my “stuff” in it and on it. Why someone gave it away, I don’t know.  Guess what I paid for it? $50. Yep, that’s all.  I also found a Framed painting  by the artist Lena Liu that is in perfect condition for my bathroom.  Are you ready? $5.00.   Also two  collectors  plates  painted by Marty Bell and Lena Liu  to hang in my bedroom. Still in their original boxes. $1.00 each. Oh yeah, I did good.

Plus, at the CVS  store down the street from me, I found an office chair for my new desk. It was 90% off and I got another discount from my daughter-in-law, (she works there) so wound up paying $4.99 for the chair. Yep, I’m on a roll..  :)

This is good, because since they found someone to live with the lady I took care of 24/7, I’ve been out of work. They have been calling me for little jobs, but nothing really to earn any money. Until they do, I’m broke, so these bargains are fantastic!

Whoohoo I’m back!

Rusty, aka rustybroomhandle , kindly offered to do a layout for me here since I really wanted something more personal, more me. He was actually able to bring most of my layout from efx2 and implement it over here with a few great extra touches. I love it and I wanted to give him the credit for the great job. This makes me feel more at home now.:)

My lady (the one I do a part-time live-in with) is going home from the hospital today. I guess she had a small bleed in the brain, but she apparently is alright now. That’s good news..

Now, I have to figure out what to do for my husbands birthday tomorrow, fix dinner here, or go out? I think because I’m not here much anymore, he’d prefer a homemade dinner. Maybe I’ll surprise him tonight and take him to this wine bar in my town. They have live music, great fantastic cheese platters, and best of all, I don’t have to cook, lol.clap

I tried and failed…

So, I tried to work on the css and failed as I expected I would. It’s so much different than efx2. It took me awhile at efx2,but I was finally able to figure it out. This over here looks like all gibberish to me. Sigh.. I wish I understood more, but I’m afraid I never will.
I’m thinking I might put out a “Help me” and pay someone to design my blog for me. I’ll have to leave it that way, but at least I’ll have something that is ME.

I wonder? Can I paste and copy the info from my layout on efx2 over to here? What would happen if I did that? Yikes, I’m afraid to find out, so I better not try.
